Piggl REAR POD

A slimline storage pod for all T5-T6.1 Volkswagen Transporter campervan conversions.

Piggl REAR POD unit is just the rear unit only from our longer Piggl KITCHEN for those seeking additional storage without the need for a kitchen sink or utensil unit. The Piggl REAR POD sits over the rear wheel arch on the drivers side of your VW Transporter and provides 'stuff storage' space. The pod is provided as a flat-pack kit containing all the parts, fixings and instructions you need to build it ready to install into your VW Transporter campervan conversion.

Piggl REAR POD is CNC machined from 15mm thick phenolic resin faced birch plywood with a black hexagon pattern finish, giving a robust and hardwearing surface. We purchase our Hexa plywood from a number of suppliers therefore there may be some variation in pattern or finish to other Piggl furniture. Please note that the side of the pod that faces into the van will be smooth side of the material and not Hexa pattern.

Piggl REAR POD is a slimline unit (only 31cm in depth) and was designed to fit alongside Piggl BIKE-BED. These two products have been engineered to work together. Whilst you can purchase and use Piggl REAR POD alone, another standard size camper van bed may not fit alongside it so please check carefully.

HOW DO I FIT IT INTO MY TRANSPORTER?

Piggl REAR POD needs to be secured to the internal, metal wall panels or floor of your van. We do not include installation fixings as each customer can choose their preferred method of fitting. Piggl recommends one of these options:

1. Slot threaded bolts through the existing holes in the internal metal sub-panels of your van and secure the bolts in place using washers and locking nuts. The bolts should still be exposed after you have insulated and carpeted your van interior. The back of the rear pod can then be drilled to fit neatly over these bolts and you can secure the pod in place securely with washers and locking nuts.

2. Screw through the back of Piggl REAR POD directly into the interior metal sub-panels of your van using self tapping screws.

3. Secure the Piggl REAR POD to the floor of your van using metal L-brackets (not provided) if you have a solid sub-floor.

WHAT DOES SELF-ASSEMBLY MEAN?

Piggl REAR POD will be delivered to you on a pallet as a flat-pack kit. Each component is provided to you pre-cut and pre-drilled along with all the fixtures, fittings and instructions you will need to assemble it. Simply follow our step-by-step guide.

A good degree of DIY competency and some of your own tools like a power driver will be required- as will two people to help build, lift and install. If in doubt, consult a qualified trade person.

You must decide which fitting method you want to use to install Piggl REAR POD into your Transporter and provide appropriate fixings.

PLACING YOUR ORDER AND PAYMENT:

To make placing an order as easy and as flexible as possible we have two payment options:

1. Pay in full immediately. Once your order is ready to be dispatched we will contact you directly to discuss a suitable delivery date for you. 

2. Pay a deposit. This deposit is a part-payment of your order and is non-refundable. The deposit secures your slot for us to begin CNC manufacture of your unit. Once your order is ready to be dispatched we will contact you directly to take the remaining balance payment and to discuss a suitable delivery date for you. 

Deposit payments are not available on accessories. By placing an order you are confirming that you have read and understood our Terms & Conditions, how Piggl REAR POD works, that it will be provided as a flat-pack product for you to assemble and install and that you have read and understood what items and fixings are or are not included as standard.

DELIVERY INFORMATION

Please allow approximately 2-3 weeks for the processing, manufacture, packing and delivery of Piggl REAR POD. We will notify you when your order is ready to dispatch to arrange a suitable delivery date. Delivery will be made on a pallet and customers are responsible to have someone at the delivery address and adequate space to accept the delivery. Someone will need to be available all day to accept the delivery.

The delivery company (Palletways) will normally deliver between 8am and 5pm on your specified date. Palletways may update you directly via text or email with an estimated delivery time slot, but this should only be taken as an estimate and the delivery times slot is subject to change – without updated notification – at any time due to traffic delays etc. You must remain at the delivery address all day to accept the delivery. Missed deliveries will need to be re-arranged and are chargeable to you before another attempt is made. 

All deliveries are of flat-pack and require self-assembly. 

Delivery is only Monday - Friday. We cannot deliver at weekends or bank holidays.
